I normally don’t do promotions on this blog, but This is for Saint Augustine!
Restless Heart: The Confessions of Augustine will premiere in U.S. theaters next week. How can you help bring it to a theater near you?

To learn more about the film, read Tim Drake’s interview with Ignatius Press’ Tony Ryan.
“Now it is surely a miserable slavery of the soul to take signs for things, and to be unable to lift the eye of the mind above what is corporeal and created, that it may drink in eternal light.” — De Doctrina Christiana, III, 5.
I.Must.See.This.
Bring the kiddos! I’m sure they’ll love it. 🙂
Looks like its going to be a great movie. Definitely a must see for me. This is the first I’ve heard of this movie. Thanks for the tip.
It’s certainly based on a great story of a great man, so it has the makings of a great movie.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for letting us know. I am so excited!!! I with Teresa think it will be a must see. I love movies about our Saints. Thanks again. God Bless, SR
It’s previewing down in Arlington, which I believe (for some reason) is near you — but Texas is a big state and I’m not sure what is near where down there. Hopefully, they will show it in enough theaters so that everyone who wants to see it will have the chance. God bless!
Arlington is about three hours away from me. I live in south central texas around A&M University. I live about 35 miles from there. I will be watching for it in College Station though as that is the closet movie theater we have. Thanks again and God Bless, SR
Can’t wait for it to make it’s way over here!
I hope it arrives in a theatre near you!
Do you know if and when it will be coming to the UK? Looks like a must-see!
We will have to do some research on that. I am sure it will make it to Europe and the UK — soon, I hope — and it will eventually be available on video, for sure. This one just looks like one worth viewing on the big screen. God bless!
I am so glad that movies like this are being made. We need to have things like this. Too many movies about the saints are, frankly, overly sentimental and quite sappy. I have been impressed with some, like Monsieur Vincent and Faustina. I hope this one follows their path.
This post about the movie leads directly into your next post about the New Evangelization. I love the connection here.
Thanks, Reinkat! I’ve seen some good RAI productions on saints. RAI is an Italian company that does not always have dubbed translations, but subtitles are available. I did not care much for some of their movies, like Maria Goretti. Padre Pio and Blessed Scotus were well done in my opinion. If you like movies on Saints and Old Testament figures, I recommend checking our RAI, if you are not familiar with it already.
Thanks! I did not know about it. I will indeed check it out. I would love to see realistic movies about our saintly heroes, minus the pious eye rolling and violins. It is a struggle to become holy, unending and hard, forever in process.
