Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on Biltrix, but now that I’m ready to get back in the swing of things, I can think of no better way than starting off with the Blessed Virgin Mary. She has meant so much to me that I’ve found I can’t help myself but snap pictures with my iPhone of the beautiful statues where I’ve offered an Ave.
I thought today, being the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, I’d share some of my favorites along with some profound wisdom from St Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary. I hope you enjoy it!
“Devotion to Mary consists in giving ourselves entirely to our Lady, in order to belong entirely to Jesus through her…
Therefore we must give her:
Lovely. Thanks, Fr. Jason.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy the Blessed Mother’s feast today.
NO. 2 is my favourite!
NO. 2 is a particular favorite of mine. This statue is in our courtyard where I pray the rosary often.
You’re so lucky. How lovely.
Pictures are worth a “thousand words” and these proved it! Thanks for sharing Father. #2 is my favorite also! God Bless, SR
“If a picture were worth a thousand words…” I get a deeper sense of what Jesus means when he tells us not to rattle off words when we pray but to pray with the heart whenever I contemplate the serene image of Mary in prayer. Thank you, SR. God bless you!
A post that blesses me immensely! It was Our Lady who led me into a realisation of the truth of the Catholic Church as the One True Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. I owe her an eternal debt of gratitude for her graces. God bless Our Heavenly Queen & Mother. And God bless you for your words.
God bless you, Ivan. May Mary’s motherly care always accompany you as you follow Christ’s steps day by day.
That’s a great post to wake up to. Thank you for reminding me what it’s all about: how awesome it is that we belong to the Lord and He gives us His Mother and They are with us.
Indeed, it is truly an awesome thing. Thank God for it!
God bless!
Lovely post about a beautiful role model for all Catholics — and a reflection of the many ways we see her. Thank you!
Thank you Interface & God bless you!!
The 15th September is my birthday! And my Baptism was on the feast of the Holy Rosary, 7th October! I feel very blessed and protected by Our Blessed Lady because of this.
What a beautiful blessing to have this closeness of the Blessed Virgin Mary in your life!
