At the end of the liturgical year, after celebrating Christmas, Easter, and all of its feasts and solemnities, the Church has one last thing to say: Jesus Christ is King.
Jesus Christ is the king of time, of the universe, of every single person; yet, his Kingdom is not of this world, so we don’t see it.
Although he is all powerful, his kingdom is not one of power but of love. We learn this when we see the throne that our king rules from, the cross, where he stretched out his hands in the greatest gesture of love a king could possibly ever show.

The cross is where death was defeated. The death of our lives lived in sin. The grave is the evidence of that defeat. And the right hand of God is where the King lives! Thank you for the reminder.
