You know when watching this I was so filled with emotion. I wonder what “emotions” he was feeling? I am sure he has had so many. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, SR
I think for many Catholics, it’s been a day of many emotions. I made a visit to the Adoration Chapel today on my way home from work and found that there were more people than usual in prayer.
There was another video I wanted to share but it was not on Youtube of Vimeo. The helicopter flew over the North American College where all the seminarians were cheering and waving. Not somber at all. So yes, many and varied emotions.
It really is hard to see him go, yet at the same time I share your positive sentiments and I know he is praying for his successor and for the Church. Fortified is the word!

Yeah. Just had one of those “It just hit me moments, myself.” Guess I did not realize it was not going to sink in until now.

I cried as the helicopter lifted off. The end of an era. Beautiful parting words.
It was beautiful indeed. I’m anxious for the next one to start!
A new era begins. I feel “fortified” that he will be praying for us all, even as he leaves the public sphere.
