It’s time to pray.
The Supreme Court will be hearing testimonies for three days this week to determine whether Obamacare, and by extension, the HHS Mandate are [un]constitutional.
I’m posting a full email letter I received from Students for Life to this effect, with links to their site. Let’s do all we can to support this effort and defend our constitutional and religious freedoms.
Dear Friends,
I’m writing this email from home today, and I can hear my two boys playing in the room.
I decided to take today to work form home to see my boys because I know this week is going to be action packed. However, I am writing this note to you today because the pro-life movement is having a BIG MOMENT this week, and I am afraid a lot of people are missing it.
You see, this week the U.S. Supreme Court is holding a 3-day hearing, the first of 3-day hearing since the late 1960s, to decide whether or not Obamacare and therefore the new HHS Mandate are constitutional.
Friends, this is this generation’s Roe v. Wade case. This case will literally decide if the U.S. Government can force you and any other person of faith and conscience to fund abortion, contraception, and abortion-causing drugs on demand.
If the Supreme Court rules that Obamacare is constitutional, there will be no limit to what the Obama and preceding administrations can thrust on the American people. As a Christian, as an American, and as a pro-lifer, this case worries me.
And what is truly worrisome is that fact that today on the first day of the hearings, there are over 75 TV cameras outside of the Supreme Court and it is surrounded by pro-abortion activists and people of faith who are in favor of the Obamacare plan. In fact, this was the President’s plan as his campaign sent out dozens of emails last week asking people to come to the Supreme Court and proclaim before the media that they were Christians and in favor of Obamacare.
Friends, SFLA is needed now more than ever.
Tomorrow, we are planning our National Student Lobby Day on Capitol Hill asking Congressmen and women to co-sponsor and support the bill that could overturn the HHS Mandate. But we also will be out there, the only pro-life group that I know of, in front of the Supreme Court, the same time Planned Parenthood is, offering a different voice. We will be their proclaiming that this generation is pro-life and that we aren’t going to stand by silently as nation is taken over by tyranny.
This afternoon, I am asking you to do 3 things for me:
- Pray for the Supreme Court Justices. Pray that God may give them wisdom.
- Join us tomorrow morning at 8:00amEST in front of the U.S. Supreme Court (1 1st Street N.E. Washington, D.C.) to counter the loud voice of the abortion Goliath, Planned Parenthood. And if you can’t physically join us, start praying for us at 8:00am.
- Donate to SFLA’s mission: https://secure.campaignsolutions.com/studentsforlife/donation1/?initiativekey=FP56XFOA2O21
I’ll be honest with you, I have spent so much time this past month fighting the HHS Mandate that I haven’t had time to make sure SFLA’s checking account is where it needs to be. However, I knew my time was best spent fighting the HHS Mandate and making sure students across the nation knew what it meant for them. But now bills are due, we are paying for dozens of kids to travel into DC tomorrow for our Lobby Day, and our bank account is running very short.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and financial support. You will never know just how much it means to me.
For Life,
Kristan
P.S. – If you can please, pitch in today with $20 to help us pay for bus tickets or gas to get students to D.C. tomorrow stand up for our freedom!
