The Blood of Martyrs Is the Seed of Chrisitans 11

Looking for intercession?

Today is a great day to exercise our faith in the Communion of Saints and ask for their prayers, as the Pope just canonized 7 new saints this morning. That makes today a powerful day for intercession. Make sure and get your prayer in! More…

The Sword of Damocles and Tolerating Political Evil 9

There are two ways to look at the “Tolerance of Political Evil” issue; one is not acceptable, the other is, although it is not optimal for the very reason that it involves the tolerance of evil, which we would prefer not to tolerate at all. An Evening With the Cardinal at the Al Smith Dinner (Not So Grievously Bad) 13

It struck me this morning while celebrating Mass that we ask God for mercy eight times. Are we really that bad? More…

A 7-week old child about the size and shape of a bean in the palm of your hand

When it comes to having children, there are many things a parent does not choose, such as eye and hair color, personality, what the child will look like, and whether it will be born healthy. One thing the parent does choose is the child’s name.  More…
